The 2008 RUA Education programme will offer a diverse range of events and activities for the general public, families, community groups, schools and FE Colleges.

A series of Artists Talks open to the general public will take place each Sunday on 28 September and 5,12, 19 October at 2.30pm.

The UK-wide Big Draw event an initiative of The Campaign for Drawing will be celebrated throughout October with a special open public and family big draw events taking place on Saturday 11 October .

Other family events will include family trails, worksheets and workshops and throughout the exhibition we will encourage all visitors to respond to the exhibition or specific artworks in our ‘Response Room’ a designated area within the exhibition space.

Community group visits are welcome and will include tailor-made packages or Older People’s groups visiting the exhibition combining an historical tour of the old drawing offices together with a guided tour of the RUA exhibition.

The RUA Schools programme will include gallery tours and information and resource materials for both Primary and Secondary Schools.

A Teacher’s preview event and workshop in collaboration with Belfast Education and Library Board and Creative Youth Partnership board will focus on specific artworks exploring new ways of looking at art and design across the revised curriculum. A schools workshop activity is also available to Teachers attending this event. Numbers are strictly limited for this special event and will include a free Teachers resource pack.
